Promoting Health Equity for All Patient Populations

West High class of 1996 alumna Sara Camacho is a health care professional who has been working to help make Dane County healthier for the past 20 years. She is a UW graduate who moved to Oaxaca, Mexico after college graduation to perfect her Spanish language skills. Her love for the Spanish language and Latin American culture was reinforced by Sra. Llera and Sr. Zintel during her time at West High.

Sara’s bilingual abilities have allowed her to serve the Dane County Latinx community as a Spanish medical interpreter for 17 years at SSM Health and GHC-SCW. She holds a master’s degree in Licensed Professional Counseling and has a strong interest in community behavioral health, especially serving the immigrant community that may have limited access to mental health resources.

Currently she works as Community Care Manager at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin, where she has the opportunity to give back to MMSD through her work with the Primary Access for Kids (PAK) and Adopt-a-School programs. Sara recently became a Certified Diversity Practitioner, a training that is especially useful as she strives to reduce health disparities and promote health equity for all patient populations. Earlier this year, she joined the NewBridge Madison Board of Directors.

Outside of work, she keeps busy with her two daughters and multiple pets. Sara enjoys music, cooking and baking, salsa dancing, reading, and attending Forward Madison soccer games.

Madison’s public schools are proud to count Sara Camacho among their alumni!

So there you have it, it’s not only about making improvements to the shop for everyone; you can also win $3,000 in the monthly Walgreens sweepstakes by answering a few really easy and fundamental questions. This demonstrates the store’s commitment to its customers.

Are you looking to take the Walgreens survey? Visit the website at https://www.walgreensreceiptsurvey.co/, enter the required information from your receipt, and answer the survey questions honestly. It should take 5-10 minutes of your time. After finishing the survey, get a chance to win a $3,000 cash prize.
